Day 19: Kingston - Toronto

Wednesday 16th July 1997: The last full day in Canada started with a big McDonalds' breakfast. The trip to Toronto was going to be a long one and we wanted to see lots of things before we would arrive there.

At 1pm we arrived at the Toronto Science Centre. As opposed to the one in Sudbury, this one also has an Theatre. Our lunch was ham/cheese and turkey sandwiches with chlorine cola.

The first film we saw was. This wonderful film transports you into the last great frontier where nature enchants the eye with magnificent spectacles. You will find yourself fishing with brown bears, soaring with bald eagles, dodging calving glaciers and racing on the hooves of caribou. After that we attended a seminar with video about tornado's and we followed physics class about laser light. At 5pm the 'Special Effects' movie started, which took us behind the scenes of movies like King Kong (1990 edition), Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition, Independence Day, Jumanji and Kazaam. All in all we had a wonderful entertaining afternoon.

We then checked into the same hotel as when our honeymoon started, the Delta Chelsea Inn to prepare ourselves for our last Canadian dinner… at the "360 Revolving Restaurant", 350 metres above the ground in the CN Tower. In just over one hour you have seen all of the view.

After the three-course dinner we stayed for a while to enjoy the view and stood on the glass floor.

Travelled distance: about 285 kms.

Weather: Sunny, 30-35ºC.
