Day 2: Toronto
Sunday 29th June 1997: We had breakfast at the breakfast/lunch café at the corner of the street. A Canadian (read: giant) croissant was more than enough. Then we took the "hop-on hop-off"
full city tour in an open roof "London bus". We hopped-off the tour bus at the harbour front to embark on the 'Harbour Highlight Ferry', a boat trip through the Toronto Islands. From lake Ontario the skyline of Toronto is truly amazing. From the Skydome-hotel rooms you will be able to see events in the stadium. An amorous couple once gave the audience an unannounced show. In the hotel rooms are now signs warning the hotel guests to close curtains at any time to guarantee discretion unless fully dressed. In the marina are yachts with funny names that apply to their owners. After the boat trip we completed the full city bus tour with Eaton's Centre (shopping mall) as our final destination. We had a greasy
bite and did some shopping. Just before dinner we went for a short city walk. On the terrace of the Market Garden restaurant we ate something and returned to our hotel room early, still a bit suffering from jetlag.
Travelled distance: about 25 kms.
Weather: Sunny, over 30ºC.
