Eurovision Song Contest 1956

On Friday 25th May 1956 the 1st Eurovision Song Contest was held in the Teatro Kursaal in Lugano (Switzerland), hosted by Lohengrin Fihpello.

All participating countries sent in 2 songs, performed by either one artist/band or different artists/bands. Each participating country brought forward 2 jury members, who chose the winner in a secret vote by listing their own personal top 10.
